As a child, kaleidoscopes fascinated me. It is no surprise that as an adult, my artistic expression has become a “"Kaleidoscope" exhibit - including watercolors, mixed media, oil pastels and acrylic artwork I have created. While each medium is unique, they enhance and contribute to the greater whole of artistic expression and provided me with an endless variety of images and scenes. As I twist and expand my imagination, unlimited possibilities of the creative process are revealed. Favorite
places became fragments of colorful lasting impressions.
my Treasures from Tuscany
series emerged into paintings of old cities lined with shutters,
cobbled streets and landscapes warmed by the Tuscan sun. My
Irish Impressions collection shares the ever changing green hues, rich, fertile
valleys and undulating hills of the Emerald Isle. Color
speaks to my eyes as music speaks to my ears.
Both influence my heart and soul.
As the kaleidoscope shards of color shift, I
change elements of nature into abstraction. In my Sultry Sounds of Color series I express the
synergy and sensual fluidity of both “languages” and these fluid abstracts
have been compared to Georgia O’Keeffe.
I overcome
creative stagnation by exploring new mediums and techniques; my mixed media work
integrates the elements of water, texture, color and surface.
Wolf Kahn’s
luminous style has influenced my oil pastels. My
greatest joy is motivating young and old to ignite their creative spark through
self-expression.
